🎮 Smart Game Mode & Exclusions

Solaris's Smart Game Mode ensures your display settings remain stable and consistent during critical moments, such as gaming sessions or when using specific applications. This feature automatically detects when you launch a designated application and temporarily pauses all automatic brightness and color temperature adjustments, preventing distracting shifts and allowing you to maintain focus.

Enabling Smart Game Mode

To activate or deactivate this feature:

1. Navigate to the Settings or Preferences section in Solaris (refer to the application interface).
2. Locate the Smart Game Mode toggle.
3. Switch it On to enable the feature or Off to disable it entirely.

Automatic Game Detection

By default, Solaris attempts to automatically detect popular games and full-screen applications. When a detected game is running, Solaris will enter Game Mode and lock the display settings.

You can manage this automatic detection:

• Detect games automatically: Check this option within the Smart Game Mode settings to enable Solaris's default game detection logic. Uncheck it if you prefer to rely solely on your custom exclusion lists.

Custom Exclusions (Whitelist & Blacklist)

For fine-grained control, Solaris provides two customizable exclusion lists: the Whitelist and the Blacklist. These allow you to specify exactly which applications should trigger Game Mode, or which should explicitly ignore it.

Whitelist (Always Lock)

Applications added to the Whitelist will always trigger Smart Game Mode when detected as running in the foreground. This is useful for:

• Applications that might not be automatically recognized as games by Solaris.
• Productivity apps where you require absolutely no display changes (e.g., during presentations, video editing).

To add an application to the Whitelist:

1. In the Smart Game Mode settings, find the Whitelist section.
2. Click the Add Application button.
3. A dialog will appear, typically allowing you to select from currently running applications or browse for an executable (.exe) file.
4. Select the desired application and confirm. The application's executable path will appear in the Whitelist.

Blacklist (Never Lock)

Applications added to the Blacklist will never trigger Smart Game Mode, even if they would otherwise be detected automatically by Solaris. Use this for:

• Applications that Solaris might incorrectly identify as a game.
• Apps where you specifically want Solaris's circadian adjustments to continue (e.g., a lightweight game played in the background).

To add an application to the Blacklist:

1. In the Smart Game Mode settings, find the Blacklist section.
2. Click the Add Application button.
3. Select the desired application from running processes or browse for its executable file.
4. Confirm your selection. The application's executable path will appear in the Blacklist.

Removing Applications from Lists

To remove an application from either the Whitelist or Blacklist:

1. Select the application's entry in the respective list.
2. Click the Remove button.

Behavior During Game Mode

When Smart Game Mode is active (either through automatic detection, a whitelisted application, or manual activation), Solaris will:

• Pause all automatic brightness adjustments.
• Pause all automatic color temperature adjustments.

Your display's brightness and color temperature will remain at their current levels until the game or excluded application is no longer the foreground window, or is closed. Once the application exits or loses focus, Solaris will seamlessly resume its normal automatic adjustments.
